From 2015 to 2023, Tharman Shanmugaratnam PBM, a Singaporean statesman and economist, served as the Coordinating Minister for Social Policies. Additionally, from 2019 to 2023, he served as Singapore’s Senior Minister. Having trained as an economist, Tharman has worked for the Singaporean government his whole career, mostly in roles related to social and economic concerns.
